2018 Set Showdown League Post Week 13 Update

I'm getting closer to the finish line, 13 weeks of games have been played and only 3 weeks in the regular season remain. The past two weeks of game play have been crazy watching the standings just pack right on up. The top 2 teams from each division will be the ones that advance to the playoffs. Before I get going to deep into everything here is the updated standings.
As we can see with 9 games to go for each team no one is officially eliminated. but I think the Anteaters and Blasters can start looking towards the future. The biggest news to report from the blasters side, after 21 innings Jose LeClerc has finally given up an earned run for the season. Now if anyone that doesn't have the link to the spreadsheet to see everything, here is the spreadsheet for my league.

That's where all the fun is, not going to lie the numbers don't look too bad when comparing to some real life stats. Strikeouts may be a little high, but other than that I am impressed with the way a few things have gone.

ALL- STAR BREAK:
Now all star break was a few weeks ago where I did the home run derby and strikeout contest plus I was going to play out the actual game with Peter, who is really busy so the all star game is on delay until he has time. The two derbys are complete and here are the links to view how they went down.

Hopefully we can get the actual game done one day soon before things get crazy in October again.

Now for a look ahead to the end of the season, while we have 9 games left for each team the standings can still swing anyway I bet the owners of the teams in contention are like man I hope I play the Blasters or the Anteaters, so lets see who will be playing against the harder schedules.

Chipper Jones Division
Dat Boy X (24-15)
@Acuna Matata  @ Fiers Festival  vs Aurora Anteaters    (53-64)
Covington Crush (20-19)
vs Fiers Festival  @ Cleveland Titans  vs Acuna Matata    (58-59)
Acuna Matata (20-19)
vs Dat Boy X   @ Aurora Anteaters  @ Covington Crush  (58-59)
Cleveland Titans (19-20)
@ Aurora Anteaters vs Covington Crush @ Fiers Festival (53-64)
Fiers Festival (19-20)
@ Covington Crush  vs Dat Boy X vs Cleveland Titans    (63-54)
Aurora Anteaters (14-25)
vs Cleveland Titans  vs Acuna Matata  @ Dat Boy X        (63-54)

Gary Sheffield Division
Skyway Rainiers (23-16)
vs Skyway Bandidos  vs Wisconsin Wolves @ Cobra Chickens (59-58)
SoCal Lemons   (22-17)
vs Cobra Chickens  @ Skyway Bandidos  @ Baybridge Blasters (52-65)
Wisconsin Wolves (21-18)
vs Baybridge Blasters @ Skyway Rainiers  @ Skyway Bandidos (58-59)
Skyway Bandidos  (21-18)
@ Skyway Rainiers  vs SoCal Lemons  @ Wisconsin Wolves   (66-51)
Cobra Chickens    (17-22)
@SoCal Lemons   vs Baybridge Blasters  vs Skyway Rainiers  (59-58)
Baybridge Blasters (14-25)
@ Wisconsin Wolves  @ Cobra Chickens vs SoCal Lemons   (60-57)

Now strength of schedule isn't the end all be all, but based on this you can see it will be a tough road to climb for Fiers Festival and the Skyway Bandidos. The Titan, Dat Boy X and the Lemons have the most favorable in hopes of reaching the playoffs.

Also for playoffs I wanted to clarify the tie breaker scenarios.
First of all its record, but in the event of a tie at the end of the season, it will be the head to head record of the teams tied, followed by the run differential from that series. If there is still a tie at that point, it will be the total run differential for the teams full season.

As always follow me on twitter @mlbshowdowncup for more up to date league news and fun banter all around. The trash talk between the league owners on there has been a lot of fun and I expect it to get more intense as the league continues to tighten up down the stretch. So keep up the trash talk over there, and feel free to bring it to the comments section here. For those not in the league I am curious on who you think the final 2 teams from each division are going to be.
