MLB SHOWDOWN 2019 SET -- Baltimore Orioles

Well everyone I did it!! 22 teams, and sadly this is the last one, so much for saving the best for last because I am struggling to find something to say about the Baltimore Orioles. Most things that come to mind I feel like I have already said about the other bottom half of the league. A few good pieces and then a nice pile of trash. Going 54-108 they finished last in the AL East, and after parting ways with Jonathan Villar this off season, will things get any better for the poor fans in Baltimore.
Last Orioles card for Villar as he is headed on his way to the Marlins for 2020

Lineup: The first two batters are really good for a team, Jonathan Villar brings defense at two positions and A speed with a pretty good chart, he seems like a good mid round pick in a draft followed by Trey Mancini, a power hitting 9 on base, with two defensive positions as well, could be a higher pick than Villar depending on how you like to build your team. Severino and Nunez are two 7 OBs who have some power, mainly Nunez and Severino with only two outs on his chart. OOOOF I hit the part of the lineup where I am lost for words, I apologize, the rest are salary fillers at the end of the draft, some provide position flexibility, some power, and some speed.

Bench: Speed from Martin in pinch running situations and power hitting from Davis in pinch hitting situations.

Rotation: John Means had a good year for a bad team, that makes a good pitching card really impressive. The rest of the rotation is pretty weak, Dylan Bundy is their second best, packing his bags for Los Angeles, and the last two starters are very bad and only 3 IP on their card.

Bullpen: So many weak pitchers on this team, and the bullpen is full of weakness. The best is a control 4 with 2 doubles and a home run on his chart, and after that your best option is a 2 control out through 16.

The Orioles are a putrid team with 20 players coming in at 3010 points, averaging out at a league worst 150 points per player. This team is rough, and probably 3-5 draft able players and the rest are basically all fillers on a roster.

  1. Pedro Severino apparently feels the same way we do.

I just got Colby's 2014 set, and it's nice to see a good Orioles team since it will be awhile before it happens again.
