Lineup: The rangers start things off with Shin- Soo Choo, who is just the model of consistency every year. Next is Hunter Pence who had an all time bounce back year if you look back at this 2018 card. Goes from unusable to a foil card. Next is Joey Gallo a great middle of the order batter who could potentially be a first or second round pick in a draft for all the power that he brings. Clean up batter is Danny Santana, basically last years Javy Baez card, 3 positions, A speed and an explosive chart if he gets the advantage. Willie Calhoun also brings plenty of power with a 14+ home run with his 7 on base. Logan Forsythe brings good fielding to and can also bounce around his positions on the field. Elvis Andrus is a good usable piece with great defense and a 20 speed, followed by Jeff Mathis who is terrible on base wise and defensive wise. Rounding out the order is Delino Deshields with his really high speed to turn the order over to get back to the three 9 obs.
Bench: Nomar Mazara is a pretty good bench player out through 3 and has a great chart. Sadly for him the Rangers are overloaded in the outfield. I also didn't follow the position restrictions with this lineup so the best 9 batters were in the lineup. Rougned Odor is also on the bench but when using the full line up he probably needs to slide into Willie Calhouns spot.
Rotation: The Rangers rotation has a good 1-2 punch in Mike Minor and Lance Lynn, both 3 control out through 17. The rotation after that is very rough in Ariel Jurado and Adrian Sampson. It shows why they were middle of the pack because they need to win the two games that Lynn and Minor pitch because most times the other two pitch it will be an uphill battle from the get go.
Bullpen: The Rangers come with an interesting bullpen, their two best relievers are low control but out through 17. Jesse Chavez is a tier lower but 2 IP to help ease the pain of the end of the rotation. The last reliever also a 2 control, a full bullpen of 2 IP pitchers, is Shawn Kelly and he gives up a home run on his chart and is a tough choice to bring in a shallow bullpen.
The Rangers come in at 4220 points with 19 players bringing their average to 222 points per player, not bad at all for a team that didn't make the playoffs. The high price pieces that they have drove the average of the team up and will make them more competitive.
