2011 Set - Los Angeles Dodgers

Somehow the Dodgers managed a winning record in 2011 despite having basically two good players. It doesn’t hurt that those two players were arguably the best pitcher and best position player in the NL that year – Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw and MVP runner-up Matt Kemp.

Kershaw is a tier-2 starter with no doubles who can pitch 7 innings. Kemp is the only 10 OB, A speed card in the set, and his chart

is powerful too. To be fair, rookie relievers Kenley Jansen and Javy Guerra are studs too. And Andre Ethier is a budget 9 OB option who doesn’t just walk. Overall though, this team is very top heavy.

Red and blue teams are plentiful as always, but the Dodger Blue looks so sharp, even on the multi-color foils, that I don’t mind. It's too bad Tony Gwynn, Jr. is no Tony Gwynn, Sr., because that card looks sharp.

Foils: Matt Kemp, Clayton Kershaw

And the Pennant Run card:

  1. Another great looking team! Love their bullpen, very much feel like they’re one trade for a couple of OB 8, 250-300 pt guys to solidify the lineup away from being true contenders!!

  2. That feels right. I like imagining what player(s) a team could add to be contenders. I think this team is Emilio Bonifacio and Brian McCann away.
