The Blue Jays roster will give you whiplash. Jose Bautista may be the best position player in the set. (He’s tied with Mike Napoli for most points with 580.) Ricky Romero is a 520-point, tier-3, no-doubles, 7 IP ace.
They also have 7 cards worth less than 100 points, including a starter and two closers.
The good news is that there are some cards in between that are sure to be drafted. The most obvious example is Yunel Escobar. He is essentially 00 Darryl Hamilton with +4 defense at SS – a 300-point, 9 OB, B-Speed bat with a homer, who gets on base at 5, and singles at 9. Pennant Run rookie foil Brett Lawrie is a September call-up with +4 defense at 3B, A Speed, and a decent chart.
I like Edwin Encarnacion for 270. And if you’re into multi-inning relievers, Carlos Villenueva might be your guy.
Foils: Jose Bautista, Brett Lawrie (PR), Ricky Romero
