2018 MLB SHOWDOWN SET -- Los Angeles Angels

Welcome back to the AL for the very high and low Los Angeles Angels. This was a rather interesting set to make. I wanted to use the red backgrounds but it clashed with a lot of the red jerseys so I ended up with the Navy. I have also been experimenting with a different type of variant/rare card which I'm sure you guessed is none other than Mike Trout. I'm sure also everyone is excited to see how Ohtani's card came out and what are the rules with him. Let me know below how you guys would have him in your leagues. Listen to the podcast below to hear me and Peters take on the set and drafting Ohtani.

So we will start with the line up for the 2018 Angels who finished a disappointing 80-82. I think what people are most frustrated with is not getting to see Mike Trout in the playoffs. I, for one, am sad about it. I want to see the best player in baseball and possibly showdown in the best environment. So lets get it together Angels! Like I said a very high and low team in terms of salary and skill. They have decent fielding which will help in the draft but besides Upton, Ohtani, and Trout I don't know who is getting drafted, maybe Simmons?

It is interesting to see the Pujols of old Vs the Pujols of new.

Luckily we made some other showdown cards in the middle of this span for your enjoyment. So always remember to check those out.

Ok ok enough about Pujols. Onto the pitching. An actually sort of even pitching staff here. All tier 4.... not great, not many going to be drafted here. Only one would be Ohtani depending on your rules. Even the bullpen needs some much needed help. Let's hope these off season moves by the Angels will help them out.

So the question is how will Ohtani be drafted... same thing came up in Fantasy Baseball this year. (If any of you guys play out there who are your sleepers this year). Do you draft him as a 700 pt single player that can play SP and DH or do you draft him as a 700 pt player that takes up 2 roster spots or do you separate him out and allow people to draft either the pitcher or the batter etc.

Anyway onto the sadder part of this blog but stay tuned to the end.

Nothing to rave home about unless you mean Home Runs.. because that what you will be giving up like the Indians bullpen.

Lets just look at the flip Ohtani card again to make us feel better.

Now that looks like a fun card.

Well if you made it this far remember to follow me on Twitter @BobBumbarger and subscribe to our podcast on YouTube - Bourbon Over Baseball - Let us know your thoughts.

  1. It's amazing how far one player can carry a team on his back. Simmons is a pretty draftable piece, but after those four... also, I was vaguely aware the bullpen sucked, but jiminy christmas that's an abomination of a relief corps.
