Veterans’ Challenge Series - Game of Games (Challenge #4)

In a tribute to these heroes, I present Part 4 of the Veterans’ Challenge Series. The series consists of four parts, and ideally you advance to take on the next challenge. Consider it your time in the service. Challenges will stretch from Memorial Day to the 76^th anniversary of the “Day of Days (June 6^th, D-Day).”

In a tribute to D-Day (the “Day of Days”), this is the fourth and final challenge for your military service. This is where all of the hard work comes to a head and you are tested to the fullest. The Veterans are coming at you with everything they have, fielding a fully loaded squad for the last stand.

The format is a best of three series. Your roster size is set for 16 players and you have 6900 (100 points for every Hall of Fame veteran) points for your salary cap. When building your roster, you have a few restrictions:

-You only have to carry 3 starters (each starter will start one game and can only pitch in that game)

-You must carry 4 relievers (as long as they do not go over their IP allotment, they can throw in all three games – if they do go over in one game, they must sit the next one out to rest)

-You must carry at least seven foils, but have the opportunity to carry more if you would like

-Your team can consist of players from the 2000, 2001, or 2019 set

-Since Sergeant DiMaggio, Aviator Speaker, and Private Banks did not make the cut for the Veterans, you may elect to enlist them for your roster if you choose

-House rules will apply during games for your roster

 

For the Veterans, their pitchers can throw every game regardless of their workload from the previous game (these guys were tough and threw all of the time during their careers). As for their roster and lineup, here you go:

In order to complete your service time and attain the rank of Admiral, you must post:

-Your full 16-man roster

-The results from your three games

-Win the series

-Any big plays that took place and the Series MVP
