We have now completed the 162 game season! Stats and standings found here.
24 teams started the season, and 11 remain standing. That's right, there is a tie for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference, and so there will be a play-in round before the official wild card play-in.
This is a packed update! I go through the final playoff updates, present the playoff schedule, and post end of season leader stats.
I add two new things to this blog: a "worst leaders", where I post the hitters with the worst HR, pitchers with the highest ERA, etc. (qualified players only), as well as "Achievements", where I post players who had 3 HR in a game, hit for the cycle, threw CGSO, etc.
Finally, we have voting for the awards. League awards will be MVP, Cy Young, as well as position-by-position first-team all-league players. You can vote for the award winners here!
I won't go into a team-by-team regular season recap here, as this blog is already long enough, but I will get to that in future updates. The next three updates will be:

Eastern Conference Update
Going into this final update, all Eastern playoff teams had clinched with the exception of Ottawa and Columbus. Ottawa only had to win 1 game to clinch, but did better, going 3-0. Providence and Birmingham both went 1-2, remaining tied for the first overall seed in the conference, with Providence winning by tiebreaker. The only other possible movement was for the Aaron division and wild card. Charlotte needed to make up 2 games on Birmingham but only made up 1, so they remain the first wild card team.
Western Conference Update
There were three teams with a shot at the final second wild card spot after Game 159. Anchorage had a 1 game lead on Tucson and a 3 game lead on Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City did their part, going 3-0, but will still miss the playoffs as Tucson went 2-1 and Anchorage 1-2. This sets up a pre-wild card play-off between Tucson and Anchorage.

Something interesting I wanted to see was which players did the worst in the various categories. Limiting to qualified hitters/pitchers so that you don't see bench players having the fewest HRs or such.

Most HR in a Game: 13 players had 3 HR games, no one had two 3 HR games, and no one hit above 3 HR.

The fifth cycle was 00 BS Tom Lampkin, who went 4-7 in 9 PA to get his.
Walkoffs: There were 203 walkoffs in the season, meaning just over 10% of games ended in a walkoff.
01 BS Geoff Jenkins was the only player with 4 or more walkoffs (2 singles, 2 doubles). 16 players had 3.
01 PR Ken Caminiti was the only player with 3 walkoff homers, 10 players had 2.
Most CG: There were 16 complete games thrown.
00 BS Curt Schilling threw 5.
00 BS Randy Johnson threw 4.

Most K in a game: There were 12 games where a pitcher threw for 15+ K. 9/12 were by 00 BS Randy Johnson (one 18 K, one 17 K, three 16 K, and four 15 K), two by 01 BS Pedro Martinez (both 15 K), and one by 00 PR Kerry Wood (15 K).
No-Hitter: 01 PR Bruce Chen threw the only no-hitter.
