Hopefully the first round will be completed tomorrow and possibly the second round done by Saturday. It should be an exciting tournament. To add even more excitement for those of you that use twitter, I have started a Showdown Cup twitter page to keep live scoring updates of the games. So for those of you who would like to follow along, give me a follow @mlbshowdowncup for tournament updates, and general showdown and MLB talk.
I will also be updating this post as the tournament rolls on instead of new posts every time, so stay tuned for some March Madness Showdown style and best of luck to everyone. Interesting the top 8 teams are all 5000 points so we should see some styles clashing and some great games.
The First Round is complete and here are the results from the games.
All of the games felt so close and it was awesome to play them out. Pitchers duels were the main theme, and the 5000 point limit made all the teams so close in talent levels. The one thing that I noticed was the amount of batters that got out on their own card. It happened at least 2 times per game and really killed some rallies. Round 2 will be coming tomorrow, and ill end it here with the updated bracket. For more information on the games check out the twitter page.
Round 2
How is the tournament run, in terms of single elimination or is it a best of x games series? Looking forward to following this!
ReplyDeleteYeah it’s just a single elimination tournament. Winner gets an automatic bid in my big tournament over the summer. It won’t be the last time for all these teams tho because they will fall into qualifying for the tournament in the summer at a later date too
ReplyDeletehmm.. What's the roster for Boston Brawlers? Maybe I'm just not seeing them
