The Chosen One, Bryce Harper. Although he's struggling by all conventional measures right now, Harper put together one of the best Showdown cards in recent memory during his 2015 MVP season. A .460 OBP, 42 HR and a .330 average give him an OB 11 with 18-20 HR range, while having a rare OB 11 card that isn't hamstrung by too many walks. Harper showed why he's the complete package and may be in line for a $400 million deal this offseason (with the Cubs, because his dog's named Wrigley ;)) if he can put together a 2018 second half even close to this dominate!
Strasburg was the first of the two amazing #1 picks the Nationals made to turn their franchise around, and he burst onto the scene in 2010. Last year was arguably his best overall season, as he went over 175 innings while also keeping an ERA under 3 (he went 2.52) for the first time in his career. Known for his amazing K ability, and an inability to stay healthy, Strasburg is one of the Nationals best known players and a fun addition to our 4th of July cards!
In 2009, Derek Jeter finished third in the MVP voting while taking home a Gold Glove and leading the Yankees to their FIFTH title with "The Captain." Love him or hate him, it's impossible to dispute that Jeter is one of the most recognizable baseball players of all time. 2009 was one of his best ever seasons, and now it's captured in a purely patriotic card (with the whole 2009 Yankees -- in normal designs -- coming soon!).
U-S-A!U-S-A!U-S-A!
ReplyDeleteHappy fourth everyone
Does anyone know if they will ever bring it back? I really would love to play showdown again
ReplyDeleteI doubt it. But luckily a lot of members of the community make the fan made cards and post them on here and other sites so you can always print them off and still play.
DeleteLove this!! Happy Fourth a day late and keep up the great work!
