So enjoy the full 18 man roster for the CLASSIC SET Orioles!
Lineup: One of the better lineups in the set, the Orioles have a good blend of power and on-base potential. Their one weakness is a lack of speed, with speed B players leading the way. However, Rettenmund and Buford's OB 10 with good walk rates should just get them on base, and power-hitting Frank Robinson and Boog Powell can drive them in easily from first base. Brooks Robinson may be a glove wizard, but he's also a very solid #5 hitter for this team. Paul Blair adds a sixth fairly reliable bat to the deep lineup. It helps that the O's do not have a single OB 5 hitter too, making (most) pitchers at least HAVE to roll for their chart.
Rotation: This dynasty was famous for have FOUR 20-win pitchers in one season, and they bring all those starters to the CLASSIC SET. Surprisingly, Hall of Famer Jim Palmer is the #2 starter, as McNally actually had the best single season of the group! This rotation is deep and strong, capable of pitching deep into games and all featuring great controls to keep the dice out of opponent's hands.
Bullpen: The Orioles don't have the most Control, but they've got plenty of high tier pitchers to support the starting staff. Eddie Watt leads the way with a very strong Control 5, on at 18 card. He's going to be primarily supported by Tier 2 guys like Dick Hall and Pete Richert. Even Lopez and Leonhard are Tier 2, with their low control somewhat offset by their IP 2. They could be very useful against low OB portions of a lineup and should have very good WHIPs against OB 5-7 hitters. Overall, if this counts as the "weak" part of the Orioles, then Classic Set Baltimore is nearly invincible.
