ALL DECADE DBACKS

Arizona had a rocky decade, but made the playoffs a few times! The 2011 NLDS that they barely lost to Milwaukee was particularly memorable. Sadly, they had to deal away Pauly G and Grienke, but both guys are back this year, teaming with near-MVP Justin Upton, a healthy AJ Pollack, and a fantastic 2019 Marte to create a real contender for the playoffs in the All decade league!

Goldy is arguably the best player in franchise history... and he was remarkably productive all decade!
LINEUP: The DBacks have a lineup with lots of thump and speed at the top! AJ Pollack is a dynamic leadoff man -- extra bases starting at 12, walks at 3, A(22) speed. He's followed by a pair of fast and XB heavy, OB 10, HR at 18 guys in Ketel Marte (playing 2B for this squad) and GOLDY! Cleaning up is one of the best power hitters around, 50 HR pop-level JD Martinez from 2017. What a beast to have supporting these fleet footed top 3! Honestly, the DBacks top of the lineup is a slightly better constructed version of the Mets and I think they're going to do a lot of damage (especially against SD and Colorado's rotations haha). JD is protected by Justin Upton's 2011 card (which almost won the MVP... just a reminder how down offense was at the turn of the decade). Peralta is hitting 6th and arguably could leadoff, but I like a 9 that's on at 3 over a 10 that's on at 7. Miguel Montero then gives them a 10 in the 7 spot. They round things out with two OB 7s, which is surely a free ticket to a lot of charts for most ABs, but in the rare chances that these guys get, they should pulverize the ball with extra base power! Honestly, I think the DBacks have one of the sneaky best lineups in the All Decade league.

ROTATION: The DBacks are yet another team to roll out a steady rotation. Ian Kennedy is a stout ace with his 6 on at 16, IP 7 card. Wade Miley brings out a Control 5 and Dan Haren's a bit risky with that Control 3, but his 1-18 outs can shut teams down if he avoids opposing charts. Grienke is a Tier 3, but I like his solid, Control 4 on at 17 card. Honestly, they're a slightly worse version of the Rangers rotation (thanks to their Tier 2, Control 3 and Tier 3, Control 4 guys giving up doubles), and that should be enough to keep them in the hunt with their lineup.

BULLPEN: A really solid group! Bradley is a Tier 1 closer who can easily handle two innings. Then they've got a steady diet of Tier 2 arms to feed opponents, including a variety of Controls to shuffle between based on situation. This is a strong enough bullpen to win games!

Overall, the DBacks come in at 7210 Points, making them a legitimate contender in the All Decade league! While they're still nearly 1000 points behind the Dodgers, they're the second most expensive team in the NL West, a top 10 team overall, and loads better than the Giants or Padres. If they can beat up on SD and SF without taking too much punishment from LAD, they're a bonafide wild card contender.... and then anything can happen!
