IM BACKKKKKKKKK Did ya miss me?Today I am coming with the Los Angeles Angels, as we move through the 2019 set, I didn't think the Angels were very good this season, minus Mike Trout of course. But this team is not that bad from a showdown perspective. The lineup, obviously you would like to have more 9s and 10s and that will be potentially coming in 2020, but they have a fun lineup to play with, and for you defensive players, you can get yourself a +12 infield and a 5 outfield with the right lineup. Starting pitching shows where they struggled this season, sadly losing Tyler Skaggs isn't helping anything as he was their best pitcher this season before he tragically passed away. Griffin Canning gives hope as a young 23 year old starter who could only improve going forward with Mickey Callaway getting his hands on him, potentially like he did for all the young starters in Cleveland over the years. The bullpen is tons of fun in my opinion, and you can really get creative with how to use them. When the two lower end starters are pitching you can spell them with Felix Pena for 4 IP, while still having 4 other good relievers to use if need be. All around this team has many parts to use to build your team with, curious to see how many end up getting drafted.

Now for a little bit of fun, I don't think anyone is expecting this team to win the AL West but they should be scoring tons of runs this year, and if their pitching can limit some runs they may have a shot at pushing for a wild card spot, so lets look at the potential lineup for this Angels team

Rotation: Not as much fun to look forward to, it seems like its a rotation full of third and 4th options. If Griffin Canning can continue to improve and move up a tier he can at least be the clubs ace, maybe they will make a move before the season or at the deadline to get a top notch starter.

ReplyDeleteLooking ahead is fun! As if Trout wasn't already disgusting, I'm excited to see what he'll do with some protection in the lineup as well. Pitching wise I'd have to imagine they will make a deal mid season if they haven't derailed completely some how to boost them. Made is a goal of mine last year to watch more Angels games (tough on the east coast), but am doubling down on that this year.
