2018 MLB Season Race For A 10 On-Base

As the 2018 season is in full swing we are seeing the leaders in the different statistical categories start to take shape. When building a team I was always big on more 10 On-base hitters than the power game. So based on the spreadsheet shared with me for card creating says the ideal amount of 11/10 on-base hitters is 2 11's and 19 10's. So looking at the current leaders here is a look at what we could potentially  be seeing come the end of the season when we are making the new set of cards.

The race for an 11 seems to be a four player race right now, while being a 10 has many guys just trailing to get into the race, a hot streak for anyone can push them into the list, and a cold streak can send you down the list. I'm hoping to check back in on this list throughout the season hopefully once a month and maybe a little more as the season is winding down.

What else interests you guys for a card creation? I am up for looking into other statistical categories or past ones.

  1. Wow, definitely a lot of competition! Personally, I usually target my cut off at 25 (in this case, 24 as I'd go at the 376 mark to prevent too many OB 10s), but it's going to be a crazy race through the season to see who gets the spots!

Biggest surprise for me is Schwarber and Contreras being solidly in the OB 9 range and competing for 10 spots! If Rizzo can reclaim the 10 he always seems to get, the 2018 Cubs showdown team is going to have some fierce bats!

  2. Yes the cubs hitting has a chance to be scary. Same for the Red Sox with a shot at getting an 11 and jd Martinez and benintendi both getting 10s. It will be interesting to look back at this list come July and see what has changed.
