By Request:

This might be one of the oddest post I've made... But when you take requests you get what you get. One of my buddies who will be in my 2018 draft league as you sure to see later (team name "The Butch Huskeys) really loves his Indians. He really loves his odd pitching Indians and mostly lefties. I was then tasked with getting these players together with Mr. Dave Bush to make them into the cards you will see. But be warned these are very odd and in most cases a very small sample size to work with. We had a tweak a few details with the sample size being so small on some of them. But if you are a fan of really off Indians pitchers mostly one and done kind of guys this is the post for you.

Lets get things started in the way back. Back in 2003 with Indians lefty Jason Stanford.
Mostly a starter though did come out of the bullpen 5 times. This Indians started posted a 1-3 record with a 3.60 ERA had a 2:1 strike out to walk ratio and a whip of 1.28. Nothing too crazy but did pretty good for the Indians that year. He pitched the following year then disappeared till 2007.

After that we travel 1 more year forward to 2004 with Indians lefty Cliff Bartosh.
Pitched in 34 different games and only for a total of 19.1 innings. He was more of a lefty specialist. His ERA that year wasn't too impressive with a 4.66 and a whip hovering around 1.7. He was a strike out artist averaging 11.6 Ks per 9. Other than that not much to say about this guy. But with such a inning to games played ratio you can see why the card is the way it is.

Lets keep going down memory lane. 1 more year forward again to 2005 for Arthur Rhodes.

I will admit. I couldn't even remember him even playing for the Tribe. "And you call yourself a FAN!" i know i know. He was an overall pretty solid reliever throughout his career and with no exception did spectacular for the tribe that year. 47 games played with a 2.08 ERA is amazing. He had a 1.03 whip and 8.9 Ks per 9. He was a big help to the Indians that year. The white sox were just that much better. So this card actually seems like a good card to create for showdown. Someone might actually draft this player haha.

Finally a little break we skip over the 2006 season and into the 2007 season for another lefty Aaron Laffey.
Nothing too spectacular here. He pitched 9 games with a 4.56 ERA. Had an ok whip of 1.33 and a 4.6 K per 9 ratio. Seems like your average back of the rotation guy on a below par team. But again hes a lefty Indian and I do take request.

Another 1 year jump forward to another lefty in 2008 by the name of Scott Lewis.
At first glance you are like what a stud. 4-0 with a 2.63 ERA whip of 1.083. This guy when projected out would be great except he only had those 4 starts and only pitched 24 innings that year. Its hard to make cards of people that don't hit a min Inning threshold and there is a reason that people don't do them. When first projecting out this cards he was amazing having around a 500 pt salary. But sadly with that sample size you have to Nerf him. So this is how the final turned out.

And finally... I know its a long random list. But I promised so I delivered. We travel to the crazy year of 2010. Why crazy... no reason. To what... a right handed pitcher. No idea if this was a mistake on the list but here is a right handed starter. This one is Jeanmar Gomez.

Now this guy I remember pitching. He has a much better sample size to work with. Playing 11 games that year and having a 4.68 ERA. He had a 1.64 whip and 5.3 K per 9 ratio. Again this is nothing crazy to look at. More of a back end of your rotation kind of guy.

The only card I see playable in this list is Arthur Rhodes. The rest are below average and might be only good because of the salaries presented to them. As always I take requests and follow me on Twitter As always follow me on Twitter @BobBumbarger

  1. Such a fun bunch to put together! Rhodes is definitely playable, dude is a stud set-up man (or a cheap closer tbh) for a bullpen. I still like Scott Lewis! He's barely more costly than Laffey despite giving up one fewer hit off his chart. Sure, I wouldn't use him as more than a #4 starter, but he's decent value and I can afford to work the bullpen for four innings or more with my ace coming up next in the rotation. Actually, come to think of it, I'd take the two extra control with Gomez as my #4 starter!
