MLB SHOWDOWN 2019 SET -- Chicago White Sox

The White Sox made some news today in the signing of catcher Yasmani Grandal to the biggest contract in club history 4 years 73 million dollars. Things seem to be turning around for the White Sox as some hot young players like Eloy Jimenez and Yoan Moncada paired with Tim Anderson and Jose Abreu veteran leadership seem to have the team heading in the right direction towards 2020. 2019 wasn't as kind as they missed out on Bryce Harper and Manny Machado and finished with a 72-89 record finishing third in the AL Central. Plenty of draft able players on this team and some utility players that can fill the extra roster spaces when tight on points.

Lineup: The White Sox lineup sure can use a 10 on base Yasmani Grandal right about now hitting in the middle of the order. Until then this lineup starts off with Leury Garcia, who can slide down to hit later but he led off most of the season for the White Sox. Tim Anderson and his flipping great card hits second. Yoan Moncada is the real star of this team, there isn't anything that he can't do on his own chart. Jose Abreu hits fourth with his 8 ob home run at 17 and is followed by Eloy Jimenez 7 ob 14 home run that will surely make you pay if you give up the advantage. After that this lineup is quite lackluster and bring no bench players to replace them so you need to do your damage at the top of the order to win some games.

Rotation: This rotation could use some help, ace Lucas Giolito is the typical 5 Control out through 15 that is a reliable pitcher to keep your team in a ballgame. After him sadly is the reason this team struggles so much. Ivan Nova shed the home run from his card last year but is going to struggle keeping runner off base, but some high rolling can hopefully get you 5 innings from him. Reynaldo Lopez really dropped from last year and is giving up a home run from the third spot in the rotation. Finally is Dylan Cease, and if you need to win with him on the mound good luck.

Bullpen: The White Sox bullpen at the top is very good with 3 tier 2 relievers to back up the short comings of the starting rotation. Aaron bummer comes in with his 5 control and no doubles. Alex Colome has a 4 control with two walks and a double, so if the opponents aren't rolling 20s runners are moving very far. Finally Evan Marshall is the 3 out through 18, with 2 walks, so not alot of movement against him as well. This takes us back to my poll from the twitter page last night which seems most players prefer their tier 2 pitchers to be 5 control out through 16 or a 4 out through 17. Now back to reality with the 4th option for the White Sox is Josh Osich with his 4 control and home run on his chart. Not the worst 4th option, but after him two 0 control pitchers who you don't want to use unless the game is already decided.

That's the 2019 Chicago White Sox are quite the roller coaster of a team but when they are good they can Atlas be competitive. easy to see in comparison to the Twins and not seen yet Indians why they fell to third in the division. The White Sox have 19 players coming in at 3530 points and an average of 185 points per player. The bottom dwellers of the team really bring them down, but the bright spots they have sure will be fun to play with. And for those that put up with my write ups and read it all the way through, enjoy pennant run 2019 Yasmani Grandal!!!!!
