'92-'93 Toronto Blue Jays

The back-to-back champs are back...in a 2002 style! The '92-'93 Blue Jays have finally made it to showdown form! This was quite the dominant team with a great lineup and solid pitching filled with Hall of Famers. Here's some stats from the teams:

1992:
Record: 96-66
Manager: Pat Gillick
Park: SkyDome
Batting: .263 BA / .333 OBP / 163 HR
Pitching: 3.91 ERA / 1.31 WHIP / 954 SO
Awards: none

1993:
Record: 95-67
Manager: Pat Gillick
Park: SkyDome
Batting: .279 BA / .350 OBP / 159 HR
Pitching: 4.21 ERA / 1.43 WHIP / 1023 SO
Awards: none

LINEUP:
This lineup is sure to put some pressure on your opponents defense, especially if they're using lower control pitchers. This team has 3 OB 10 players as well as an OB 11! This team sure doesn't struggle with with getting on. This team is not the most homerun heavy team, but they will put up some solid doubles and triples. This team also great speed including Henderson and Alomar's 23 speed. The defense is solid and will get the job done without letting down your pitchers. This lineup also features the historic Joe Carter walk off picture card.

ROTATION:
Here is a very solid rotation. This rotation is led by Hall of Famer Jack Morris, however, I don't believe he is the most impressive. Morris is a control 6 pitcher, but his 1-14 out turns me away even though he only gives up 1 single and 1 double (the rest is walks). Guzman is my favorite pitcher out of this rotation with a 4 control, 1-17 out, and a 1-7 strikeout. He's just so consistent. Cone is the most expensive pitcher here at 590 pts. This card is pretty similar to his iconic '00 card, but in his jays form, he has 1 more IP and a larger out on his chart. Hentgen is a pretty basic card that's going to be a great 2 or 3 pitcher for any team.

BULLPEN:
The bullpen on this team is really good and full of really high controls. Personally, I think this bullpen is overkill for the already fantastic rotation, but hey, I didn't draft this team. The closer Henke is pretty decent and will definitely close out out a game for you. Ward is the best reliever on the team and Wells won't have amazing numbers, but he has the IP 3, so he's a really good draft pick especially if you want to work in the really good, but low IP starting pitchers.

Thank you guys so much for reading this blog post. This is my first post on the blog so I'm really stoked to have done this. About a week ago, I posted a picture of my '02 design and it was pretty well received. So I used it to design an older team. The older teams are harder to find good quality pictures for, so this design makes it easier. I hope to do more of these! Thank you!
