2018 Season 1 Super Draft World Series

Its been awhile since I have posted about the Super Draft league. To do a short reminder we had 10 teams. 2 Divisions of 5 teams with the best 2 from each division making the playoffs. Teams were 18 player min with optional bench with 5500 points salary cap. For the players in the draft we had 2000, 2000 pennant, 2001, 2001 pennant, 2014, and custom cards all in 00-01 style. It was roughly 2000 cards to draft from. After a grueling 18 game season that took 5+ months to complete because of scheduling we finally have a winner! So I hope all you early voters picked..... the T-800s to win it all. Not many did but the team came through very big when it mattered. The T-800s started off the season 0-4. After a much needed team pep talk and some lineup tweaks he went 10-4 in the next 14 games to finish 10-8 tied for 1st place in the AL Division.

In the first playoff match up he had to go against a very dominant staff with CY Young candidate Corey Kluber as well as a very stacked rotation and lineup in the Sons of pitches. Only draw back would be the bullpen if he ever got to them. They had a best of 5 series with Pitches Home, Away, Home, Away, and Home. But not all those games would be necessary. When the T-800s were hot they were hot. Rolling like a true champion the T-800s quickly defeated the sons of Pitches in a 3-0 sweep.

Now he would have to go against the "best team" in the league who also finished 10-8 in the NL but had a much better division record and a much better team on paper. They also had a huge rotation with Kevin Brown and Mike Mussina. But the T-800s had to do a nice lineup adjustment then in the regular season this helped him against the pitches and it wasn't going to stop him now. After being down almost the entire game 1 he game back to win late in the game. After that comeback nothing was going to slow the T-800s down. Riding on the back of his pitchers who during the regular season didn't perform well came through when it counted as well as Mike Trout and Jose Bautista. That crushing game 1 proved to be too much for the gamers and the T-800s quickly won 4-0.

What an incredible road to victory a team that was 0-4 to start the season and had the worst luck basically being counted out rallies back to finish tied for 1st and make the playoffs. Then continues to dominate everyone in his path going for a perfect 7-0 sweep.

I was lucky enough to record a few of there matches. I have posted them to youtube as well as in this blog. Let me know your thoughts on how to improve that for viewing. I did get bigger dice for the drinking tourney which will be posted at a later date.

Game 3

Also for the super fans out there that want to see the team stats and construction here it is.

Congratulations T-800s after a crazy long season cant wait to see if you can repeat with a tougher league and more restrictive constraints. He is going to have to if he wants to keep the Funko Pop Lindor Trophy. If not it will go to the next winner. As always follow me on Twitter @BobBumbarger

  1. Congrats, what a remarkable Showdown comeback squad! Real team of destiny vibe (which I'm not sure bodes well for humanity)!!
