The lineup is bad, but the pitching is good, especially the rotation.
Am I talking about the Seattle Mariners? Yup. 2024 season? Actually, no. The 2011 Mariners had this description in common with this past season’s team.
Doug Fister was only the third best starter in this rotation, and he was traded to Detroit at the deadline. (Pennant Run card with the Tigers incoming!) “King” Felix Hernadez leads the rotation in points. Don’t miss his “alt-foil” card.
There are some budget options in the lineup, but overall, it’s not good. Ichiro is a cheap 8 OB, A speed card. Jack Cust is one of the cheapest 8 OBs I’ve ever seen. Could be a great pinch hitter… Dustin Ackley is a solid bat with great 2B defense. I think he definitely gets drafted. A young rookie Kyle Seager adds a bat from the Pennant Run, but the fact that he improves the lineup says more about the Mariners roster than it does Seager’s card.
Foils: Felix Hernandez, Michael Pineda
These may be the best looking foils yet, love the teal/navy combo!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'll bet a physical shiny card would look great with those colors.
DeleteJack Cust will be my DH forever!
