2011 Set - St. Louis Cardinals

Your 2011 World Series winners, the St. Louis Cardinals, made the postseason as a Wild Card team by just one game over the Braves. Their lineup features lots of fun cards. Lance Berkman is one of the few 10 OB cards in the set. Albert Pujols had an off year, but he still features a strong card at 1B/3B. Matt Holliday is a great, well-rounded bat with a unique alt-foil you won’t want to miss.

Anyone looking to draft cheap cards with decent On Base and versatility, the Cardinals are your team.

See Skip Schumaker, Daniel Descalso, and Jon Jay. Their rotation and bullpen aren’t star-studded, but they are solid top to bottom.

One final card to point out: the first In Memoriam foil card in the set. Tim McCarver was one of the legendary MLB players to pass away in 2023, the year I began this set. He gets a Super Season card with a new look as a tribute. Stay tuned for the other five In Memoriam cards to come.

Foils: Lance Berkman, Matt Holliday, Tim McCarver, Yadier Molina, Albert Pujols

And the Pennant Run:

Maybe you scrolled to the bottom to see the first In Memoriam card for this 2011 season: the late, great Tim McCarver. Well, here it is! Let me know what you think of the design.

  1. HATE the Cardinals, love the cards - especially the in memoriam (lovely tribute) and festive Holliday card ;)

    1. Haha, I know lots of people who hate the Cardinals. Sucks that they have so many great cards throughout Showdown, haha!

  2. Another great looking team!! In this set, having a dynamic OB 8 like Pujols with OB 10 Berkman and OB 9 Holliday is a great 3-4-5, and Molina is a STUD. Great lineup, with an amazing supporting bullpen to boot. I can see why they took home the series, even if I also despise the Cardinals.
